Policies

This page provides a summary of my policies for use of the Brian Kelly’s Hyperlinked Libraries blog.

Scope: The blog will be used to support my participation on the Hyperlinked Libraries MOOC and to give thoughts and to reflect on the MOOC environment and experience.

Changes to blog posts: Significant changes will not normally be made to blog posts once they have been published. Minor typos, corrections to links, formatting, etc. may be made without notification. However changes which significantly affect the original meaning will be flagged.  Exceptions to this policy include posts which are designed to be updated over time, or posts which contain content which is subsequently felt to be inappropriate.

Comments made on this blog: Comments will be published which are relevant to the purpose of the blog and are written in an appropriate fashion. Spam comments, comments made using inappropriate language or which are off-topic will be deleted.

Responding to comments: I will seek to respond to relevant comments in a timely fashion.

Sustainability of the blog: It is intended that the content of this blog will continue to be available for at least a year after the MOOC course finished.

NOTE: The user blogs are being deleted by the MOOC organisers, I have therefore created a copy of the blog which is hosted on wordpress.com

  1. Hi Brian-

I just wanted you to be aware that we can make no promise that your content will be available at this location after the MOOC course has finished. Michael and I are trying to work out an exit strategy that works well for the maintenance of this course and the needs of the students, but I would highly suggest you export your MOOC blog content into your regular blog at the end of the semester. Please feel free to private message or e-mail me with any questions you have.

    Thanks,
    ~Kyle~

    1. Thanks for the information. I had been intending to get in touch with you / Michael in order to clarify the status of the longevity of content posted to the blog.

It does strike me that this is a weakness of MOOC fragmentation.

Thanks again for being pro-active in alerting me to this.

      Brian
